Description: Frenchie Covent Garden by Gregory Marchand is the newest outpost of the hugely popular Frenchie, Frenchie Wine Bar, Frenchie To Go and Frenchie Wine Shop hailing from the Rue du Nil in Paris’ 2nd arrondissement. The menu echoes its Parisian counterpart with simple yet generous flavours dishes heavily influenced by Greg’s travels from London to New York through to Spain and Hong Kong.

We have eaten at Frenchie Paris many times. We decided to try the Covent Garden restaurant this time, We had the pre theatre menu. For starters we had Neal Yard cheese curds and lamb ragu. For mains, we had chicken leg and hake fish. We both had tiramisu for dessert. With a bottle of wine, our bill was £112, including tip and service, which we thought was very reasonable.

Austin, chef at Frenchie Paris, was there while we were dining. I recognized him and introduced myself. He said he comes to Frenchie Covent Garden periodically to discuss the menu and other management issues.

Our meal was delicious. The restaurant was totally booked and we would definitely return for a meal next time we are in London.

Given the massive choice of excellent restaurants in London offering good value lunch deals it is unlikely we would visit again. The food was good - above average but by no means exceptional (apart from the bacon scones which are delicious). The only outstanding thing I remember is the harissa sauce with the chicken but there was only a miniscule blob of this. The cheese portions are very small and not good value. Despite booking weeks ago we were seated in the small downstairs room next to the open kitchen which was all rather hectic.

We had a lunch here while visiting Covent Garden. The food was simply the best we have eaten in London, we had decided on two courses but ended up having four, just because the food was so delicious and the staff were so friendly, very encouraging and knowledgeable. We even bought their cookery book, which us a joy just to read.
Like a special little piece of Paris.

Superb food, friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant itself is fairly plain, but this is more than made up by the food. We had the bacon scones - exceptional. For starters we had the lamb ragu and the sea bream, followed by the chicken and the cod. Everything was superbly cooked, well seasoned and beautiful to look at. And for dessert the creme brullee is not to be missed. For me - the lamb ragu is one of the most delicious things I have eaten! Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely ambience and delicious and creative food. A friend and I had the 2 course set lunch for £27 each. Staff very good and attentive. Only downside was the food as well as being on the tiny size (for the main course) was a little cold which was a shame which makes the price seem a little high. Otherwise and overall was a good experience.
