This was the first time I had visited this restaurant last Thursday evening with my son for a very early evening dinner straight from work. From the moment we arrived,we were warmly greeted by the staff ,which set the tone for the rest of our time there. The 3 courses were fantastic (strongly recommend the mushroom soup starter and spaghetti matriacana main) and the profiterole dessert was exquisite.Prices for this part of town was fair in opinion and although the was a service charge,we were happy enough to leave an additional tip.I certainly will be going there again and would recommend it to anyone who likes good Italian food.Good service makes the whole experience so much better regardless of the quality of the food and we received excellenr service here

Visited with my mother on a Wednesday night. We had not booked in advance but they managed to find us a table - it was busy. Food was good, and very good value for central London. It's nice to be able to get a half bottle of wine - and rare these days. It was a nice mixed-age crowd with some dining alone - I would have felt comfortable doing so myself. Good service. Superb location just off Russell Square.

Ate here with friends whilst working in London. We all ordered dishes and think this was the first time everyone had food envy. Every dish looked amazing and we all enjoyed our individual dishes. Lovely attentive staff. Would highly recommend

We had the pleasure of dining here twice in a 6 day stay in London. Located near the British Museum, there are numerous eating choices. Standing at our hotel entrance which was across the street, we could count 14 different style/culture restaurants to choose from for dinner dining.

The restaurant is compact/quaint. Your are met by friendly staff. The menu is a world of Italian selections. Along with the printed large menu there is a chef selection.

Our first visit began with an antipasto plate. Nice selections of salami, olives, cheese. Following was gnocchi baked in Alfredo sauce for me: light pillows covered in a creamy sauce. Just a touch of nutmeg completed the flavors. My wife had the garlic butter fettuccini with mushrooms. Again another hit. We completed dinner with the nouget ice cream. Was so impressed with the staff and food we dined on our final night in London.
This time we had the calamari which was prepared to perfection: light flour coating, rings that melted in your mouth not chewy served with a tartare sauce. We both had a risotto but different styles. My wife had the primavera and I had the special chef selection with seafood. Again no disappointments. Creamy yet dente risotto. Vegetables not over prepped. We did not have dessert as the meal portion was more than adequate.

We have visited London since 2002 and have found dining choices continue to change. Was truly by luck to find this piece of Italy on this visit.

In a street crowded with Italian restaurants, one can be afraid of picking the wrong one. Those going to the Old Amalfi need not worry. A friendly, unpretentious atmosphere provides a welcome that is friendly, but not over-powering. The food is well flavoured, with meat well cooked and the pasta excellent.
