I LIKE this theatre! It is off the beaten track, not your typical West End fodder, but still easy to get to if you are prepared to go a few extra stops on the tube. We went to see The Seagull which was so excellent, re-written (but still faithful to the Chekov, not that I am a great Chekov expert) with a fresh modern vernacular by Simon Stephens their in house playwright, and the cast were so excellent, I came away amazed that nothing really changes when it comes to human nature. There is also a nice place where you can get drinks & snacks before the play, and such good stuff considering one of us in gluten free and one of us on a diet.

Thank Naomi E

We went to see the recent production of Checkov's 'The Seagull' which was really great. In fact, everything was great apart from the legroom for the seating. As we were in a matinee performance (the theatre was half-empty) we did have the benefit of being able to try a few options and spread ourselves sideways but the seating was really quite uncomfortable and definitely detracted from watching the performance. We're not tall (6ft) or overweight but I wish this modern theatre would try what some of the cinemas are now doing and offer better quality seating - I'd willingly pay a premium for some decent legroom!

Great buzz to this place and definitely worth the trip out to Hammersmith. Nice mix of old interior and modern exterior
Nice bar with a good pale ale on tap which was a pleasant surprise
We were in the Circle Right B1 /2 and views were fine
Handy for the underground station

Had never been to this theatre before but it came on the radar for its production of Chekov's The Seagull. Received a warm welcome by the bar staff, excellent range of wines and drinks. The production was very avant garde, it might not be to everyone's taste, to be honest I was dubious, but as Chekov's themes are fundamentally so universal the cast managed to transfer the scene out of Russia and we were left most impressed. So even an old stalwart like me felt they had made brought the message of Chekov into the modern era. Would keep an eye on what's on here when back in London.

We came to the Lyric with our family, the youngest just three years old, to see Wind in the Willows. It was excellently performed by three actors, partly with puppets and models, partly with the actors playing the parts. An hour long with no interval, it was the right length for young children - ours were spellbound by it (the adults enjoyed it too!)

There is a good bar at the theatre to get drinks and snacks.
