“Well located”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This apartment was very comfortable, modern and well-located. Was so easy to get to - from Heathrow, no tube change is necessary - and is close to all the attractions. It is also in a relatively quiet area.

“Perfect Place to Stay in London”

After staying in apartments in Rome and Paris, we were overjoyed to discover the space of this apartment. It was huge compared to our other places. The kitchen is brand new and the overall condition is fantastic. The location is great as we were able to walk to St. Paul's easily and the tube station was just a few minutes down the road. Melissa is great to deal with and the staff in the business below will attend to any needs that you have. London is a great city to visit and this apartment's location is perfect for seeing all the sights.

“Conveniently located and well appointed, this apartment provided excellent value in a great neighbourhood.”

The apartment was conveniently located to public transportation (tube and busses), particularly from Heathrow and the neighbourhood felt safe and was reasonably quiet. It was also located near grocers and restaurants. It was surprisingly spacious, including a huge living room, 2 large bedrooms and a large eat-in kitchen. It was convent to have the proprietor downstairs during business hours and when I needed to contact her outside business hours by email, she responded within 1.5 hours (which I considered reasonable as my request wasn't urgent).

Overall, we were very impressed. The kitchen came fully equipped with both a dish washer and a washer/dryer (although the dryer didn't really dry the clothes, so the clothes rack provided was needed). The bathroom was spacious and included both a large shower stall and bathtub, with excellent pressure, but we found that the tank for the toilet took a lot of time to fill, which sometimes caused a problem with 4 people using the apartment. The bedrooms were large and had excellent lighting and mirrors, however, the beds were very firm (which would be the preference for some, but not us).

“Wonderful Flat in a Great Location”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The flat is located close to great tube connections (make sure you get an Oyster pass; ask the staff or someone at a machine in the tube station how to get a pass - don't stand in line). There were great restaurants in the area (Lady Ottoline and Skinners Arms). The flat is very spacious (especially by London standards). The neighbourhood is relatively quiet after spending a day in the hustle and bustle of downtown London.

“A Tired Apartment”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The apartment is in a nice location (near Russell Square). It is on two floors, joined by a steep and narrow staircase. The rooms are functional, but not attractive. The kitchen has the basics, sufficient for the preparation of small meals. The apartment is, I suppose, clean enough. It is however well worn. The bathroom in particular needs work. (I tried, without success, to clean green mold from the shower head.) Cleaning would help, but renovation is really the action required.

It is a great shame that this guest did not pop downstairs to the office on the ground floor of the building during his fortnight, to give us a chance to clean the areas our cleaner had obviously missed. I always say to guests 'don't suffer in silence and complain when you get home, if something is not right, come downstairs and point it out'. I hate the idea of an elderly guest struggling to clean the bathroom and am very disappointed that he did not feel able to come and see me. The cleaner came midway through his stay and we could have rectified matters then. I think it is important to remember that if you rent an apartment, it will not be as much to your liking as your own home. Many guests like the uncluttered look of the apartment, which allows space for the original features and Georgian lines of the large rooms to be seen. Yes, the stairs to the bedrooms are narrow; they are the stairs the servants of this 18th century building would have climbed up to their quarters each night. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, two types of coffee maker, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, large dishes, serving plates, a flask and picnic set and a number of small utensils for cooking. I am open to buying new things for the kitchen that people need when they're on holiday and do respond to reasonable requests. Do let me know what is missing?
