I went here in July for a business training course. Impressed by the staff input and availabilty in the background. We had access to the special menu of the day as well as the full restuarant menu and the service was perfect throughout.

Visited with family for lunch only to be left stood at the bar for 15 minutes before a member of the staff looked up to greet us with a very grumpy face. The Macaroni cheese was MICROWAVED and totally tasteles and the garlic bread was inedible. Horrible! The drinks were nice and that is about all I can say positive about this place. The food needs to improve and the boys behind the bar need to learn to smile and greet their guests. Will not be returning.

Re-reviewing the Adam and Eve as they have just launched a new menu with wider choice and a superb value set lunch (three choices on each course). We had the burger and the fish cake, both very nice, followed by a delicious lemon tart and a good brownie, which came accompanied by truly superb ice creams. The rest of the menu looked good too, and was also good value for the area. Drink prices are very fair too and service was welcoming and efficient. The Adam and Eve is also a dog- friendly pub (both inside and in the very pretty garden).

Firstly, I don't really see how the 'gastropub' label matches the uninspiring food menu. Fish & Chips, Burgers, Steak & Ale pie, and the like are mainstream pub grub offerings.

However, due to the pub's location we had booked a table for eight people for a mid-week family get together. It was left to us to move the two additional seats that we required for us all to sit at our reserved table. It was also left to us to find the menus which were located on the bar. For some obscure reason they seem to choose not to have menus on any of the tables, which is an odd thing to do if you are wishing to promote food sales.

Only six of the eight mains that we ordered arrived together. The two Cajun chicken and Caesar salads that we had ordered had been 'forgotten'. By the time they did arrive, one of our party had already finished their mains. By way of compensation for the delay we were offered two free desserts. Lo and behold, one of which also got 'forgotten'.

My Cajun chicken main (I ate no more than half) was very sub-standard. Too much salt, too little garlic, limp bacon, plus a dirth of croutons about sums it up.
On the plus side, I am told that the ribs were lovely.
The waiting staff were all pleasant enough, but overall it really was a very disjointed effort.

We held our Wedding at The Adam and Eve recently and we would like to say a massive thank you to the staff who were so accommodating, polite and helpful throughout the planning.
On the day, the staff ensured that the pub was set up as we had asked and they ensured the day ran smoothly.
The 3 course menu was well received by our guests, all of who enjoyed their meals and commented to the high quality of the dishes. The evening buffet was also amazing and the portions were very generous!
We are so happy we decided to celebrate our Wedding here! The staff are fab!!!
