Was just in for one-night stay while coming from Heathrow and moving on. You can enter the hotel straight from the terminal when coming from Heathrow Express. Just take the escalator up one floor and it is the glass door in the back. Signs posted all the way. But it is the back entry to the hotel so not so visible. Same goes for leaving for Heathrow.

Access to Paddington tube is across the street, and perhaps from within the same building but did not explore that option. Across street was convenient enough and thats where they guided me.

Got an upgrade to the renovated tower side, which was clean, shiny and all that. Breakfast was served on the executive lounge in the tower, which is small room accessible with the room key on the 7th floor. Offering small but fine for me. Did not order any specials.

Room had a schuko plug in it (European power plug socket in the wall), which was very convenient. When you go looking for the main light switch in the night, it is only on one side of the bed and not marked.Room clean and service fine. In-room safe and minibar available.

Of course, stayed only one night, coming late and leaving early. Also cannot say anything about the "standard" rooms. Except that the corridors looked old, and the contrast to the tower side seemed 'uuge.

The corridors are a maze though. If you are looking for the tower side, follow the black signs. Ignore if the desk tells you to turn right from 2nd floor elevator but the signs point left. Go with the signs.. :)

In any case, great location and very convenient.

Room Tip: tower side is shiny

Perfect location off the Heathrow express! Paddington train station has M & S,Sainsbury's and other shops open til midnight. Hotel is just 100 yards from getting off the Heathrow express. Easy to argue that this is the most convenient hotel to get to in all of central London! The refurbished GWR tower was super nice, clean, we felt well taken care of by housekeeping and executive lounge staff when we needed items.
Exec lounge on 7th floor: small, prob seats 30ish people. Made to order breakfast was nice. Although, omelette was a little overcooked and flat (not fluffy), afternoon tea was ok, but we were hoping for scones and clotted cream. It seemed it was grocery store pastries, cookies & eclairs, (not even bakery). The appetizers @ happy hour were disappointing and tired. Happy hour on til 830pm.

Location is the best feature about this hotel: a fifteen minute ride from Heathrow on the Heathrow Express, and easily connected to the Underground and to trains to the Southwest.

GWR Tower rooms are large, with most of the mod cons. The GWR Tower Lounge was never crowded, and the breakfast buffet was very good (remember to request eggs to order as there are no eggs on the buffet).

Bathrooms provide separate showers and tubs, with good water pressure. Single sink vanity featured a blending tap. In room safe was a good size and easy to use. Walk through closet provided adequate hanging and drawer space.

The only drawback to the GWR tower is the somewhat involved trek via the 2nd floor to get there, but it is well signposted.

One thing to note is that odd numbered rooms in the GWR Tower face towards St. Mary's Hospital and there are occasional sirens from ambulances heading to A&E.

I stayed for a night at this hotel during a trip to London. I needed a room last minute at 10 pm at night. This hotel was kind enough to accommodate me. The location is very central and just opposite the Paddington station. So in case one needs to connect to Heathrow by the airport express, this is a great option. The staff was good and in fact they gave me an upgrade. The rooms are of above average size. Maintenance and upkeep can be a better.
All in all a good stay.

Disappointed about my stay since the room smelled very bad and the carpet was sticky, not Hilton standard. Wouldn't say that it is located in the best part of London however Paddington station is nearby and underground parking is available.
