The booking site failed to mention that this pub B&B doesn't have a pub anymore, hence I assume there is only the one B too. The pub lease is up for sale so hopefully someone will be able to revive it. If so, they should do something about the rooms while they're at it. There's mould, thick layers of dust, water damage, you name it. The lights had gone out in the hallways and we had to use the torches on our phones to find the rooms.
I feel for the owner(s), as running a pub B&B of this size in London must be tough these days. Unfortunately that's no excuse for the state of the rooms or the fact that it's being advertised as a pub B&B after the pub's closed. The building however is lovely and with some solid investment there's some really great potential here. The area is fantastic and it's a short walk to Waterow Park, Highgate Village and Archway Underground station (Northern Line, High Barnet branch).
Hopefully this will be restored to its former glory (assuming it was once glorious). Until then, the So Arch apartments down the road are a pleasant alternative.More
