“Coffee shop with a view”
Review of Brockwell Lido

Brockwell Lido
Reviewed 11 June 2017

The view from the coffee shop is of the pool. The coffee was good, there was a little confusion over tables but we got there eventually . We had a child with us and we asked for toys for her - we were told the toys were only available at the weekends, however on the way out we spotted the toys in a cardboard box by the door! How annoying.

The pool itself is wonderful; huge, clean enough, almost mythic in appearance. I couldn't have been happier with my swim. But poor facilities- queue 4 deep for each loo, showers not working in women's changing room, tiny space, not enough lockers and those there are poorly maintained with broken bracelets which means you can't wear them in the pool. Basically a wonderful facility let down by all this poor management on the side.

We waited over an hour for food and nothing arrived (we ordered salad!). Terrible staff. This place is a shambles. Do not bother if you can help it.

Went to start my open water and wetsuit season with a friend and loved the pool. Lovely clear water, beautiful location and changing / locker facilities. Then a quick drive to Herne Hill for well deserved brunch after 20 lengths and 1,000m. Wetsuits and costumes mixed, swim hats for all.

The cafe is billed as a popular trendy place that often requires tables to be booked ahead of time. Sadly, the reality is somewhat different. Rude waitresses, slow service and average food. The only thing of interest was the view. Avoid if at all possible
