Cambio de Tercio operates behind a small frontage on the south side of Old Brompton Road in South Kensington, a short walk west from the tube station. It can be tricky to spot, because there is another tapas restaurant nearer to the tube, but it is worth the walk. A friendly greeting, good service, and white table cloths. This is not shabby. We started with Artichoke Salad with Foie Gras (of which there was the merest sliver) at a whopping £9.50, and toasted Catalan bread with chopped tomatoes on top for £3.75 for 2 pieces. This was followed by yummy 8-hours roasted tomatoes in sweet sherry at £9.75 proportion, caramelised oxtail at £13.00 (or £26.50 as a main dish). The "signature tapas" was Cappuccino of Foie Gras with sherry and parmesan froth for £6.50. Most of the dishes arrived together and not in the sequence we had ordered. Instead of wine, we chose sherries, one sweet and one amontillado. The amoroso was for some reason unavailable. Including service, the total was about £60 a head - not cheap, but fun and pleasant. The next morning I found I had put on 2 kilos, surprising as nothing seemed too fattening. Then it dawned on me - one of the reasons everything was so yummy was that it was full of sugar, water-retaining salt, and sherry. Did we enjoy it? Yes. Was it healthy? The tapas were all fresh and clean, but watch the calories!

Mmm, tapas, done at their best. Go with friends and try everything. The service is friendly, the ambiance great, especially in the quieter back of the restaurant. The dishes are all different from the usual, seasonal, Spanish. A real pleassure.

Came on a Monday night for a casual after work dinner and the restaurant was busy. Tapas was excellent, great flavours, well cooked and presented. Nice gin and wine list to accompany the meal. Service was also good, the guys on the floor really attended to us well. Overall a great place to come back to for Tapas and wine.
