We’d tried to go here previously but there’d been a problem with our online booking so when we arrived there were no tables. The restaurant staff were very apologetic and offered us a voucher for wine which we declined as we’re not big drinkers. It wasn’t their fault one of those technical hitches.
So as our son was home for the weekend and it was the other half’s birthday we decided to go for lunch. It was quite quiet so we got a table easily. The waiting staff were lovely, drinks selection good and Joe was fab reeling the full list off to choose from. There was a reasonable choice of menu with a couple of vegetarian choices which was good as we’re often limited in this department. The food when it arrived was nice, chip portions a bit on the small size, plates were warmed which was good but it was a bit slow being delivered to the table. It seemed a long wait for food which wasn’t particularly complex. Also found it a bit on the pricey side for a lunch menu.

Went for Sunday lunch. There was plenty of choice. The food was tasty and the service was great. I'll definitely visit again.

A lovely family Sunday lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly in a very relaxed atmosphere. I have visited again since for brunch which was fabulous.

Having heard about this place we did not know what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised. The friendliness shown was really good. The food was tremendous and very flavoursome. The black pudding starter was sublime, the steak was to die for and the cheese cake just topped off a really good meal.
Rachael our waitress was cheerful, polite and very welcoming.
This will definite place that we shall return.

The context of this place as a non profit organisation is a brilliant idea to help those who wish to turn the path and better themselves. Well done all round

My husband and I have wanted to visit this establishment since reading the background behind it plus the superb reviews. We visited last night 27th March after I purchased a good deal on Groupon. We were supposed to book 48 hours in advance but I rang the restaurant yesterday morning asking if we could visit that night as we were in Middlesbrough, this was not a problem at all. We were greeted by a lovely lady who quickly seated us and took our drinks order. They didn't have the beer my husband ordered so another lovely lady came and asked if my husband would like to try a new line of bottled gluten free pale ale free of charge...he liked it a lot!!
We had the set menu as this was part of the Groupon deal. Firstly we both ordered the Black Pudding for starters this was fantastic so tasty. For mains my husband ordered the Rump steak this was cooked to perfection and so tender. I ordered the Chicken mash and asparagus this too was cooked perfectly and so much chicken..yummy and also so tasty. For desert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding and the assorted ice cream both where delicious. All in all a fantastic experience from start to finish. We can't wait to visit again so See you guys very soon in the meantime keep up the good work you're all doing a fantastic job xxx
