A fantastic cottage with everything needed for a home from home. Warm, quiet, spacious, good view ease of parking. We had a wonderful family break between Christmas and New Year.

“A superb holiday cottage in Whitby”
Reviewed 7 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

We stayed Fri-Sun early December, we arrived to find that the owners had tastefully decorated the cottage for Christmas which the young kids loved as our decorations have not gone up yet!
Location is fabulous, on the banks of the river Esk snuggled beneath the Victorian 'Larpool viaduct', very quiet and peaceful (except for the local rooks at dusk!) yet it is only a few minutes drive from the heart of Whitby and has easy access to the local supermarket.
The cottage itself easily accomodated our party of 4 adults and 3 young children, and had everything we could possibly need, Martin & Julie certainly keep the property in excellent condition and we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Good afternoon Daniel - many thanks for taking the time to post a review for us - pleased that your kids were happy with the decorations !!

We refurbish the cottage annually as it is important to both us as owners and all our guests that we maintain the cottage to a high standard - we thank you for your appreciation of the hard work and cost that goes into keeping the cottage in excellent condition !!

Personal recommendations are also much appreciated and we will hopefully welcome some of our friends and family to Kauri in the future.

Kind regards - Martin and Julie

“Excellent Accommodation in a Quiet Location”
Reviewed 1 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

What a lovely little place. Quiet and peaceful location but Whitby centre is easily accessible for the typical North Yorkshire Seaside Town experience. The cottage is fantastically well equipped and is just like a home from home. Plenty of space even though there was 7 of us with 2 dogs as well! Have already recommended to family and friends and will definitely be visiting again. Great contact off the owners Martin and Julie and a wealth of information to get you started. fab!

“Excellent find, lovely break”
Reviewed 26 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Thanks to Martin and Julie for a lovely break in a lovely cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage is incredibly well equipped with every glass and utensil you could ever need. The living accommodation spread over 3 floors works well.

The location was fantastic for us, Originally I had a little bit of concern on the location being outside of Whitby, this was quickly forgotten when we did the 20 minute walk into Whitby which was lovely. We ended up doing it most of the time (although in the Dark may be a pushing it)...

Typical haunts in Whitby with the Moon and sixpence, Greens and Magpie café all doing Whitby proud.

We look forward to our next stay !
