Lovely harbour we watched kids crabbing Lots of action around the harbour can get on a boat for a guided trip. Sometimes a big ship is in sadly wasn't in during our weekend. Loads of fish & chip shops most cafés allow dogs - however, there is loads of dog muck around most streets - people in wheelchairs prams go thorough walk in it & take it into home b&be hotels shame lovely place

Whitby is such a picture postcard old town . still retains its charm .
Narrow cobble streets which lead up to the Abbey Via Steep climb up Stone steps, but well worth the climb . The church and burial ground is so pretty. with a fabulous view across the whole area wonderful photo oppotunaties. Go inside the church its so unusual .
On the opposite side of the Harbour swing bridge you will find lots of lovely places to eat and shop. also that is where you can go down a small ramp to access the sandy Beach [if the tide is out], here your children can take traditional Donkey ride . There are also lots of boat trips advertised for a very reasonable price even a Pirate ship .

Always nice for a walk around even thought it is usually very busy. Lots of different shops and sights and smells, you won’t be alone wandering around the harbour most days. Saw lots of Turnstone which was nice.

As far as small town harbours go, this one meets all the criteria, plenty of restaurants and bars line both sides and lots of small independent shops covering all matter of things including jewellery, clothes, objet d'art, souvenirs, local delicacies...well worth a visit and a stroll around
