We (myself, husband, our young son and my parents) spent 3 nights in York and found this flat perfect for venturing into the nearby old town centre on foot. Angela was lovely and had prepared a welcome hamper for our arrival. The flat was very clean and pretty much had everything you might need for cooking simple meals (we took advantage of the giant Sainsburys less than 5 minutes' walk). The bed and sofa bed both received seals of approval. Although the front room with sofa bed faces onto the street, we had no trouble at all with traffic noise/street traffic noise/etc. Despite the unpredictable weather forecast, because the flat was right down the street from the entrance to the city walls, we could explore the city for an hour or two, and then head back for tea&treats when the weather became iffy (or our son tired out). The accessibility of retreating to a quiet, nice space was sheer luxury for us when traveling with a young child! The only negative I could possibly think of was that the flat was too *modern* for our tastes (though very clean and comfortable).
