Paid extra for fast track tickets. Although no line when we arrived early and asked to get in as it was pouring with rain, we were refused and asked to come back at the time on our ticket. Once inside it was fairly interesting the glass covered Viking street was okay, wasn't really sure what we were looking at. Moved on to the little car that took you around the Viking houses, streets, Viking way of life with really life like robotic figures. Good commentary. Very interesting. Once off the car, there were a few glass cases with some relics. Then straight out into the gift shop. Unable to revisit the Glass covered street which may have had more significance after the educational ride. In and out in 40 mins. Glad we did it, some good bits, but not really worth the money.

The new Jorvik centre is great, a fun place that can be appreciated by everyone.

I would recommend booking tickets ahead to ensure you have an entry time and skip the line - which can get very long.

Yes it was Easter weekend but the queue was ridiculous. Waited over an hour and then took 20 minutes to go round. If staff were faster serving they could have turned that queue round much faster. I’m much need of an upgrade to meet demands of 21 century visitor.

We made the trip to York just for the Jorvik centre our youngest son is doing Viking project at school and we thought it would be great for him to see this.

We were blown away with exhibits, the knowledge of the people who work there. I will say that it’s probably best to pre book as we waited a little while to get in.

The highlight of the trip is the pod trip around a great biking village model.

Brilliant experience - the museum tour by motorised "pod" is just amazing as you travel through a Viking encampment. The animatronics were superb - the figures are so lifelike - even the smell is authentic. All the staff are in costume and in character - they were so helpful and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
