An amazing piece of history, place of worship, architecture. We had walked through the city centre and thoroughly enjoyed every place we had visited. So we walked into the Minster with anticipation of topping off the visit with a walk around the interior. Unfortunately, we were greeted with a request for £10 each to have a look around. We turned around and walked out. This is a place of worship and I was being asked to pay to go into it. If it was a 'contribution' and I could decide, just as we encountered in our visit to Northern France's cathedrals last summer, then I would have not had an issue. Being asked to pay was irritating. Reminded me of Jesus and the market sellers/money changers in the New Testament.
So if you are happy to pay, it's worth a visit.
