Great to visit and walk along the walls of York - especially on a sunny day. Along the walls there are a number of nice cafes to get a drink or food in

When we visited, it was a very rainy day and the walls were quite slippery, check the weather! Despite being many signs saying no dogs, there were dogs on the walls and even poo in places. But it was still a very enjoyable walk and it was very easy to go round all of the walls in a full loop.

Always good to walk the walls of York. Not a complete walk as they never fully enclosed the city due a lake originally defending it in parts, but there are information boards each time you have decend the stairs before rejoining on the other side of the road. A lovely way to see York in all its glory.

Fabulous to walk on - goes around the city. One part has railings but the other part doesn’t so it’s quite a drop on one side. Lovely to do, gives a good view of York and all the wall isn’t far from the city centre.

What a great way to start the day in York. Great views with the benefit of photo/video shots of the city. Not suitable for the infirm as steep steps need to be climbed at various points around the city wall. Can be used as a shortcut to get from certain parts of the city as it allows you to take a more direct route avoiding traffic and roads. My only regret was I didn't have time to walk the total length of the wall. On my return I promise to fo it.
