The venue is stunning. Our waitress was very friendly and professional. The food was excellent. All in all a really high quality experience and well worth the money. Our meal here was a highlight of our short break in York.

Had a lovely meal in here. Service was prompt and definitely with a smile. Good was hot and delicious and the cocktails were lovely especially the Italian twinkle. Who could resist a cocktail with that name. The setting was grand and the prices reasonable

First time here and what a stunning room!
The waitress was fantastic and dealt with all our needs recommending a dish for my husband as he has issues with eating.
A lovely taster of lemonade was given free.
A pasta ricotta dish was had by my hubby which was creamy and tasty and i had margharita pizza.
We also had chips and a side salad. No complaints. All was lovely

The building has been beautifully refurbished and is one of York's architectural gems-it's worth calling in to take a look at the interior.
We felt the food was ok, but nothing more; it lacked flavour and seasoning and was fairly standard fare. However, our waitress was excellent, just the right amount of intervention plus she was unfailingly polite and cheerful.
It would be nice to have some info about the building, it's history and recent refurbishment on each table to read while waiting for food, rather than a board in the entrance lobby which can be easily missed.
