A wonderful place to visit with outstanding views over the Tyne valley .
Most helpful and informative staff with a great atmosphere in the tea rooms.
Quiet little walk with the dogs on their leads which is understandable as there are animals in the summer time.
Both the print room and museum room of great interest and this hidden little treasure is well worth a visit.

This was the birthplace of Thomas Bewick who engraved wood. My daughter was able to make a picture with some wodden blocks in the print room.

We also had a walk around the paddock and met the two donkeys.

This a National Trust House which we have been to twice. The staff are really nice, friendly and encouraging. Very fun activities for kids and nice to have a peaceful walk around. They have donkeys that are really cute and you can stroke them! A lot of things to do. When I was there the activity was finding objects that don't fit in the place where they are - for example the toaster shouldn't have been in the olden day room, and you had a piece of paper to write the first initial of each worrd that doesn't fit in and you have the unscramble the words to reveal a dog's name. Loved it!!

This is only a small National Trust property but well worth the visit. The people running the property were very friendly and informative. It does not take long to look around but everything is well displayed and explained. I also liked seeing the two donkeys out in the paddock. Could easily be visited in conjuction with a visit to Gibside.

Me and my family visited here because of two reasons, we have never been and wanted to see it and the other because my boyfriend's mam volunteers here and I wanted to see her. It's a lovely little place with lots of history, beautiful views and two donkeys and alpacas. It's worth a visit.
