Hi,

We came this evening to gurka kitchen for the all you can eat buffet, it was the first time we have been to your restaurant and first impressions were not great!

The food standard and the quality of the food was fantastic!! , but on the other hand the variety of food was next to nothing, for a all you can eat compared to some in the city centre with a vast majority of food.

Once we had a plate or two we felt like we had eaten everything for £12.95 with no small deserts or a wider range of food were slightly disappointed!!!

Was very surprised at the level of food at this restaurant. The food was excellent and extremely tasty and the portion size was more than enough. Would highly recommend this restaurant, will definitely use again.

Upon ordering a takeaway on a not busy Saturday night was disappointed to collect to find when we got home we had 2 dishes missing. Normally where I live standard protocol is a couple of free poppudums with most orders, in particular if you spend over a certain amount - here we got nothing! The veg samosas were nothing like home made in fact I’ve had better samosas bought from a garage forecourt, a bland and tough piece of naan bread and horrified to find a bag of rotting salad to accompany the said poor dishes! Im not sure what chicken is being used but it was tasteless and possibly pumped full of water - but it didn’t taste like chicken! The texture was alarming! After ringing to complain we had to take it back (another 10 minutes walk) to obtain a refund and be confronted by a very rude owner who simply said after nothing more than an argument “if you don’t like my cooking then go elsewhere!” Extremely poor customer service. Extremely rude, extremely poor standard of food - Will NEVER return and will indeed go elsewhere!!

We were very surprised with Gurkha Kitchen, which was a spur of the moment celebratory meal. It may look like a pub from the outside but it’s a beautiful haven inside. It’s really beautifully decorated, with a lovely atmosphere and very professional staff just wanting to make your meal and evening perfect. It would be perfect for a valentines or anniversary meal and we’re already considering coming back for a birthday meal in a couple of months. A real gem.
