This property is only about a 30 minute drive from the city of Oxford. It is situated in very pleasant surroundings and we decided to spend Easter here. Easter day lunch was disappointing....the Yorkshire puds were cold....no apology...told to eat main course without them and the hot ones would come later....they did but we had eaten the rest of the meal by then! Good service in the restaurant. Hotel does not treat Platinum elite members well....no room upgrade of course and doesn't seem to be any benefits as being top of this loyalty room. Bedroom wasn't available until 4pm. All staff we met were very helpful and polite. Food is average. Rooms nice and clean. Overall, though, rather disappointing stay after the way we had been treated at the Randolph hotel in Oxford...the night before....and we paid the same rate. As I've said in some of my previous ihg reviews.....their loyalty scheme is terrible you give and get very little back...if anything. There are no real advantages.
I'm not sure we would return here.
We would like to because it is peaceful...quiet...and we feel rested.More
