Hi There,

Thank you so much for your 4 star review, Its great to hear you enjoyed your visit and the pork belly.
It is a great shame to hear you didn't feel you had enough veg on the dish during this visit as you are aware the dish comes with braised baby leeks and purple sprouting broccoli, but where people would like a little extra veg we do have some delicious sides to accompany our dishes, a personal favourite is the honey roasted beetroot and orange.

We look forward to you revisiting and I will take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Easter.

Best wishes

Christian and the team

We went for lunch as we needed some vegan friendly options and we found and enjoyed them. Plus our carnivores were very well catered for too. The decor is lovely and warm and welcoming, despite the initial entrance way seeming to be quite dark and gloomy, once you're in the seating areas it is lovely. Nice clean toilets - although there are steps inside the pub/restaurant.
We all really enjoyed our food, especially so as they altered dishes to our preferences and the staff that served us went above and beyond to make our experience really enjoyable. The beers were excellent and obviously well kept and the wine list was a real treat to read and our choices were very good.
Our server provided a colouring book and crayons for our little one and a special dish of strawberries and grapes to nibble while we waited for a meals. Everything was really good and so we stayed for a three hour lunch break because it was so comfortable and welcoming.
I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend the pub/restaurant to anyone and will definitely go back next time I'm in Chipping Norton.

Booked last minute table for two for 8pm. Pretty busy with only a few tables available. Great scotch egg starter followed by two good quality mains fish and chips plus pork and chorizo burger. Staff were attentive and at no time did we feel rushed. When in the area again will make a b-line for the Blue Boar.

Had Sunday lunch, beef, very nice and rare, potatoes bit old, not very hot, veg ok bit soggy, was 2pm. Asked for horseradish, tiny portion taste more like mayo? Had to ask 3 times for more! Did provide extr gravy when asked. Daughter had pork and she was happy with that, friends had puddings which looked nice. £98 for 5 of us, no alcohol bought, seems bit pricey

Hi guys,
Thanks for taking the time to review or lovely pub.
Sorry you felt that the horseradish was a bit weak and the potatoes old! We make all our horseradish sauce fresh and do not make it to pungent as not to ruin the flavours of the beef and we are always happy to bring out more should you like plenty of it. The potatoes are cooked fresh throughout the day so unsure why you felt they where old. We do use prime cut sirloin of beef and Todenham Manor Farm pork for our Sunday meat which does reflect on the price a little but we feel that the extra spend makes the quality of the meat taste so much better.
Regards
Gary
