I am going to be attending a summer school at balliol next year so I thought a preview was a good idea. The printed guide provided was excellent and gave a concise history of Balliol and the gardens and facilities that wherein view to the public. There was a mixture of styles of building that reflects the periods that they were built. The Great hall is everything you expect in an Oxford College with wooden tables and benches, a high table and numerous portraits of famous masters or students. Harold MacMillan, Edward Heath and Roy Jenkins all learned the art of politics and government in this college.
