Was there for a wedding, visiting from South Africa.so I think all rooms were booked for the wedding guests.Rooms were comfy enough, but we were missing a kettle from our room.when I went to inform someone on Sunday morning there wasn't any staff around.it was so quiet..anyway apart from that we were served a lovely breakfast in dining area.and I had a lovely stay there..they could do with more staff tho,as the ones there were run off there feet doing everything..

Room Tip: Downstairs with outside balcony was nice

We recently relocated our office and tried out this hotel. I booked in a number of staff on behalf of my company on different nights.

Some of the complaints...

Uncomfortable and old beds.
Power cuts
TV coming on during the night.
No dinner or breakfast available due to lack of staff.
When staff available - terrible service.
It was described as faulty towers on more than one occasion.

This was not a one off.

We cancelled all future bookings and a planned conference. Definitely one to be avoided.

Warm, friendly, welcoming and spot on service from the staff and manager Connor. Rooms nice and comfy, perfect setting and only short taxi ride to town. Between £6-£7. Best of both worlds country retreat but yet close to town.

The website for this hotel says it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as afternoon tea.
Therefore when we stopped here for lunch on a Saturday I was rather surprised to be told they did not do any food !
The bar menu suggested they had freshly made homemade soup but unfortunately this was not on offer.
The lad on reception did make us some coffee but the overall impression I formed was that they were not open for passing trade.

Bit concerned by the negative reviews posted on here. Very pleasantly surprised this weekend. This is a really nice hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff. Booked three rooms for the night and everything was spot on - nice rooms, cracking breakfast, and very helpful regarding taxis and Oxford hot spots. Lovely gardens. Will stay again.....

Room Tip: Nice rear rooms on second floor overlooking the gardens....
