No problems. Room was fine, and clean - it was rather too hot, but better when the window was open. Hotel is in a convenient position to walk into Oxford. Probably about 15 minutes. (Thank heavens for free parking, a real plus point in Oxford) but there is a bus if the weather is bad. Hotel nicely decorated for Christmas with friendly staff. The menu and food in the restaurant could do with some attention.

I wanted to visit Oxford for a night and not stay in a generic hotel. I did some research and the Cotswold Lodge Hotel looked like a good choice. I purchased the bed+breakfast package, which included a full English breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. The room, for a single, was small but comfortable and it overlooked the courtyard. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It's about a 15 minute walk to central Oxford, but you pass by many of the colleges on the way. You can also choose to walk through the University Park for a more scenic stroll. All in all, I would definitely stay here again in the future.

What a warm welcoming place, everything about this hotel is top notch and more.
Close to Oxford City and the new Westgate shopping centre. Loads of Places to visit, museums, galleries and the diversity of restaurants so you would never run out of choices

We were rushed to our evening meal and I specifically asked for a Ribeye Steak Raer to Medium. When it arrived it was medium to well done. I sent it back and they cooked it further and it arrived very well done. I returned it agin and I received a new steak Medium. The presentation was awful it had just been thrown on the plate.

There was a Christmas Party going on and all their efforts were on this. We were a pain in their side in my opinion as we were the only people in the restaurant.

Having stayed at this hotel in the past this was our fourth visit and probably our last.we have always had excellent service good quality food and an enjoyable stay but unfortunately this was not the case this time. We were told a few days before we arrived thT there was a party on the Saturday night so we needed to be in the restaurant by 7pm not a big problem except the restaurant was empty for 90% of our meal
The Menu was not as varied as previous visits but enough choice.my starter the salmon came without any brown bread or toast which is unusual but the quality was excellent
The second course arrived one of our party asked for his steak to be rare it came out well cooked so back it went came out and it was more well done than before and burnt on edges went back again the manager came out and blamed the young lady staff member for not taking the order correctly except it was not her that took the order by the time it came out again we had all finished our meals
We asked for our coffee in the lounge with cream on the side coffee arrived with hot milk that was changed to cream except coffee was not even luke warm. Not wanting to spoil the evening we laughed it all off agreeing to mention in the morning when settling the bill thinking perhaps they may compensate us by not charging for the wine as a gesture of goodwill not a chance just a thank you for your comments
What a shame it is probably a drop in the ocean that we are not returning it did not spoil the weekend just shows that CustomerService is not that important
