I was glad to find Rewley House when I was looking for lodgings in Oxford. It is part of the University Extention, and the rooms were priced like the more modest hotel rooms.
My plan for our short time was to take a city-and-university tour and to visit the Ashmolean Museum, so Rewley House was right on the scene.
It is also right around the corner from great and cheap eats--French, Italian, Thai, and artisan Natural Bread. Best bread we had in England.
Location of Rewley House also great for arrival and departures by train or bus. To or from the bus is a straight shot, close enough. Train a bit farther. We hauled large suitcases, so we were glad of both proximity and the lift in the building.
Room and bath extra spacious which feels good though the slanting ceiling makes it not so useful.
Beds comfy, room clean, a reading light each, and one of the better breakfasts we encountered. Including the coffee!

Spacious room with view on to Wellington Square. Facilities all in working order and very clean. Excellent shopping/cafe/restaurant district of Jericho just 5 minutes away. Breakfast was good. No bedside lamps - strange.

Rewley House is a great place to stay in Oxford, especially for continuing education students, but the front desk staff (students?) were not properly trained. They had few answers to questions, were often aloof and unprofessional, and had little understanding of customer service. For example, if you check out at noon and ask to use Wifi for a moment, you'll be told that no, your privileges have ended. Not a great way to end a week's stay.

Our group of four couples was touring around England and stopped in Oxford for one night. We had booked four rooms at Rewley House and we were quite pleased with the accommodations. Though they were simple and basic, they were clean, adequately furnished, and an excellent value for the price.

My wife and I stayed in a small basement room, so we had to carry our luggage down and back up a flight of stairs. We also had to walk with our luggage about 100 yards on city sidewalks after checking in at the Continuing Education office. One of our couples, who are a bit older with some mobility challenges, were able to stay in the main building.

Overall, we recommend Rewley House, but if you have mobility issues you should discuss them with staff before booking your stay.

Mine was a one-night stay before an early morning transfer. I had studied previously with the Department of Continuing Education and their accomodation seemed well priced. The value matched the price. A neat, clean and basic room. Unfortunately during my stay the weather was very hot and the room became a bit overheated. Sleeping with the window open wasn't a good option because of noise from outside. But overall the room and amenities were fine.
