Friday night first night under new owners they've changed a few things all for the better. It's been decorated and looks a lot better seems more room. Let's hope it does well it's the best pub on woodseats and it as excellent friendly staff. The staff make this place fingers crossed it's back to the best pub soon.

we are in the abbey a lot and we love it here for a drink in the evening. Bar staff have always been a pleasure young lad with ponytail always make an effort it’s a nice feeling to see the staff enjoying their work always having a laugh with us the customers cant remember all others as there all girls all have smile on their faces even dancing on quiz nights. On that note you have to come for drinks as it feels a proper local food wise = avoid. We came in for a bite with friends this Saturday and we waited 40 Mins for to burgers and some sandwhiches it was busy on bar side but we noticed there wa only one other table that ordered. Burger was dry like a old sole and the bacon was cold and uncooked. Two stars is only to the food not the staff ill continue coming for the bar banter but the food was awful even for pub chain.

very nice little pub. We had a 3 course meal, 2 drinks and a bottle of prosecco for under £60. We will be back for sure :)

This was our second visit, the food was very good each time - the £12 three course deal in particular is good value.

Simple good quality food, with good customer service.

Bar stocks a fair range of beers, ales and wines. Would be nice to see a second local ale in addition to the really nice Farmers Blonde.

All in all a nice local for a decent meal out, cut above the other Woodseats pubs for food.

Called in on a Saturday lunchtime. Menu wasn't too extensive but choice was sufficient. I thought a bit pricey for pub food (£8/9 for main course). We had to wait a while for food to arrive but didn't mind as it would be freshly cooked.

I ordered Hunters Chicken with chunky chips. The chicken was overcooked and dried up and the chips weren't and had never been chunky. They looked as if they'd been fried twice and were hard and dry, perhaps the bits found in the bottom of a bag of frozen chips.......

To give credit our waiter was very nice and arranged a refund - it wasn't his fault!

The pub itself is pleasant and was refurbished fairly recently. Its a shame the food lets it down.

Sadly we will not be beating a path to their door again.
