This was our 3rd visit to Bath but first time staying at this hotel. We went for two nights (wed & thurs) on a 'secret escapes' deal.
The building is aesthetically imposing, and well maintained internally and externally. Limited car parking is available in the front of the hotel (£15 charge for two nights). On our arrival we were greeted by Caroline (general manager) and immediately offered tea and cake in the dining room which was lovely.
Our room (no 3) was clean, fresh and well decorated with 3 sitting chairs, a small dressing table, bedside cabinets either side of the spacious double bed, two stand alone drawer units and a built in wardrobe. All furniture items were in good condition. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided along with a flat screen tv and radio. Bedding was clean and crisp as were the towels and flannels and the carpet was in good condition. The toilet and shower were in clean good condition along with a hand basin - Just be aware that the washroom itself is very small.
Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of cooked food as well as cereals, fruit, croissants, fruit juices, yoghurt etc - This definitely fills the belly in a most satisfying manner!
Situated just outside the town centre (5-10 mins walk) and opposite a lovely park, the hotel is ideally located. They provide you a voucher for 15% off to dine at their sister hotel in town (the Allium restaurant within the Abbey Hotel). We did so - The menu is not particularly expansive and a little on the pricey side, but the service was excellent and food tasty.
My birthday was on the second day of our stay and I was touched when Caroline and staff wished me Happy Birthday as I arrived for breakfast and very pleasantly surprised (when returning to the room later in the day) to find a card and chocolates from Caroline and staff - a real nice touch!
All in all, this hotel certainly lived up to its excellent reviews and made for a very pleasant and memorable stay. Thank you Caroline and staff - that's what I call customer service!
Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed here for a romantic weekend. From the moment we arrived we knew this place was special. The welcome we received was outstanding, the service throughout our stay was second to none. The room we stayed in was well decorated, extremely spacious, very clean and felt very luxurious. location is perfect, a few minutes walk into town. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for two nights with friends while visiting Bath. The location was a short walking distance to city centre. (5 minutes on foot)
All staff were really friendly and helpful. There was everything you could want in the room. The breakfasts were amazing.
It's a shame our bathroom was tired and needed a bit of tlc because everything else was wonderful.

There are many things that make this hotel one of the best in town. Firstly location, close enough to the attractions yet set down a quiet leafy lane with the added benefit of parking. Secondly - the service is fabulous - 5 star all round. From the minute you arrive you are treated like a personal guest. Tea and coffee is immediately supplied as you check in. When the receptionist found out I had a Gluten allergy, he arranged for GF biscuits to be delivered to the room. Thirdly. - Breakfast. - its awesome! Lastly (and by no means least the rooms. I have stayed in various rooms and even the classic rooms are light bright and airy.

I loved my stay in this hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms and hotel itself are charming. The location is ideal, in my opinion. A short walk to town but peaceful in a more residential setting. The only challenge is a very small bathroom (in the room type I selected which was the smallest) but it was clean and well-supplied. Loved this hotel and look forward to staying again.
