It was the first time I'd visited a pub in Bath; and living in a City with numerous excellent, old, historic and traditional pubs, my standard is quite high. It's the sort of place one could sit and relax for a while, despite the constant coming and going, and watch the regular, ordinary locals and variety of tourists pop in. The staff were professional and polite enough. Didn't wait very long for our fish and chips - generous portions and the fish was enormous, but not sure the chips were 'home' prepared ones, and although the tartar sauce came in little dishes, the mayonnaise I requested was a bottle of cheap corner shop brand. Some people tucked into pies that looked even more appetising. The price was average for a pub, although some nearby are a lot more. Didn't have an alcoholic drink. Would recommend.
