Proper pub, with a wide selection of good English ales served by friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Also has some pleasant bench seating outside for when the weather's nice.

Cosy little traditional British pub in a busy part of Bath. The girl behind the bar was very helpful and accommodating to our group of four adults and one 2 year old. The fish and chips was the best I've had in a long while, a huge portion of cod with the right amount of batter, nice chips and the tastiest minted mushy peas I've ever had! Quality food for a pub in a touristy area, can happily recommend.

It was the first time I'd visited a pub in Bath; and living in a City with numerous excellent, old, historic and traditional pubs, my standard is quite high. It's the sort of place one could sit and relax for a while, despite the constant coming and going, and watch the regular, ordinary locals and variety of tourists pop in. The staff were professional and polite enough. Didn't wait very long for our fish and chips - generous portions and the fish was enormous, but not sure the chips were 'home' prepared ones, and although the tartar sauce came in little dishes, the mayonnaise I requested was a bottle of cheap corner shop brand. Some people tucked into pies that looked even more appetising. The price was average for a pub, although some nearby are a lot more. Didn't have an alcoholic drink. Would recommend.

Whenever in bath I always head here the place is always very friendly and gives you a feeling of being welcome
Unlike the large pubs owned by large brewery's this is a standalone gem
The food is fantastic the fish and chips better than any Resturant you can find for a fraction of the cost

They do a large range of beers and other drinks as well as having a great magic bar downstairs
So when in bath a visit is a must
