My daughters wedding was on the 29th April 2017. The hotel's wedding coordinator Karen could not have been more helpful throughout and had promised much.
All was delivered with great professionalism and it was hard to fault. The venue lends itself beautifully to weddings having great outdoor views and flows well indoors from the reception room to the dining area and then into the evening dance room and bar.
There are quiet areas as well so that conversation can be still easily managed. The hotel staff are a real credit to the hotel and could not have been more helpful. courteous or willing. They made the event the success it was.
The food was of a high standard and was beautifully served and presented.
All our guests had a great day and commented on the hotel facilities and the attention to detail on presentation. This will be a day that lives in the memories for ever

Arrange our stay some months in advance closer to the date I confirmed that all was well. Only to find that one of our night stays had not been paid for even though the booking clerk stated it had. After an evening of going through my bank statements and a number of phone calls we got it sorted and for our trouble we had complimentary breakfast for three. On arrival we were asked to pay for the breakfasts that were complimentary, having shown the young our confirmation email he apologised and we were told where our rooms were. Having joked with my wife about one of our stays at a hotel where the room was in the back of beyond, 50 stairs later (no lift) and a chicane of tool boxes left the lift workmen we arrived at our room. there were rooms further away than ours but not by much. The bed was at least 7' wide and very comfortable the view from the room was great but when you flushed the toilet it was like drawing water from the village pump in the good old days on our second day there, the staff had cleaned the shower and toilet and changed the sheets but now the shower screen would not close properly and so leaked. Our towel rail that stated VERY HOT was always VERY COLD. As you ascended or descended the 50 stairs you had to be wary of the carpet that was hanging off the riser and the chance of getting your high heels caught in it was very real. Not that I wear high heels. Our other room where our daughter was staying was OK except for the shower tray filling when she took a shower as the drainage had a blockage.
The over all look of the decor was tired and in one of the front rooms it looked like the gable end wall was going on a walk about. The food was very good and the dining room staff were on their game nothing was too much trouble , though their understanding of English was a bit sketchy. My wife asked for a table at 9 meaning we would be down at 0900 and we ended up with a table for 9 which worked out OK as other members of the family staying, could sit with us for breakfast.
On our final morning as I was booking out I was again asked for a payment for our complimentary breakfasts, so as you can imagine I was not best pleased and again showed this receptionist the email.
I have written an email to the hotel stating the above for which they apologised for not exceeding my expectations and said if we were to stay with them again they would up grade us if it were possible. This is one Best Western Hotel that we will not be visiting again.

We were surprised at the quietness of this restaurant given that the hotel was full. The food was extremely good and nothing was too much effort from the staff. One of the best sirloin steaks I have had.

Three of us checked in together, 2 rooms so the single gets the big room a the couple the small room. Rooms 30, 32 and 34 have the kitchen vent roaring away until 10pm. Dinner while nice was very expensive, plus the waiter almost had a fit when we left the dinning room without paying, we had signed the bill but for some reason they can not charge dinner to the room but they can put the breakfast on without a problem. We're told the lift is not working broke down last week. Locals in the pub said it's been broken for months. Floors creak doors have large gaps rooms too small. Breakfast was good £10 for full English. Cheapest hotel nearest to Bath we could find but only just OK.

We stayed here for a family wedding in Bath. There were quite a few of us that booked rooms and it was unfortunate that ours was very basic! It seems a bit hit and miss with the rooms as the range of standards was quite vast among the group, yet we all payed the same price! So maybe it's worth asking for a 'nicer' room! It's good that they have tea and coffee making facilities and free biscuits! Overall all, an average room with beautiful surroundings!
