We were looking forward to the tasting menu to celebrate an 18th and 60th family birthday. We were the first to arrive and, despite not offering to take our coats, the meal started out quite well. This didn't last long! The service became chaotic, we waited 20 minutes for our dirty plates to be taken away and another 20 minutes for the next course. We had finished our wine before the relevant course arrived and had to ask 5 times for water, in the end helping ourselves to the jug in the windowsill. After 3 hours, and still awaiting our desert, one of our party had to leave as she could wait no longer. The vegetarian tasting menus is 3 courses less than the signature tasting menus meaning one party member had to sit and watch us eat 3 more courses, even though we were told the pre desert was vegetarian, why then is this not on the vegetarian menu? As for the green olive in the middle of a chocolate desert, not for us! We paid £409 for a disaster (having had a discount due to the terrible experience) and it is one we will not be repeating again. Thoroughly ruined what should have been the end to a celebratory day.
