The restaurant is tucked away in Sadler Street, only a few yards from the market square and Cathedral. Only downside to the location is that parking in Wells can be challenging at times. We managed to find a spot just around the corner on the high street, but there are car parks within walking distance.
Small but well put together menu which changes according to what is available, and beautifully presented food. My Brixham crab and pan fried scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked. Hubby's pheasant was excellent. The wine we had with our meal was good too. Front of house staff are French and their service is impeccable. Artisan bread with the meal is complimentary. The chef is English and very accommodating - when we were there a visiting party had many questions about the ingredients and wanted food not on the menu - the chef came out of the kitchen and discussed everything extremely patiently, offering to cook something completely different for them.
Overall we were very impressed and pleased we found Goodfellows - we will definitely come back.
