We booked on the internet as a result of the Campanile at Washington being full. As a result the price was deeply discounted. The Hotel has been completely refurbished and reopened on December 1st. The cocktail bars are going really well but there had been very few guests for the hotel as yet.
The room was comfortable, well appointed, clean and warm and truly excellent at the price.
On the downside:
1 The name of the hotel was almost invisible when driving along Osborne Road at night with the name of the bar being featured. OK when you know it.
2 It was hopeless for disabled people because there was half a flight of steps up to the reception and only a goods lift.
3 You need a laid back attitude about breakfast. This was at 9 on weekdays and 10am on Sundays. We ate in splendid isolation in one of the bars with all items including cutlery being brought to the table as needed off the a la carte menu. My husband had been the first guest to request cereal!
There is a quality restaurant menu operating in the main part fo the day but we did nto try this.More
