Palace Garden is dressed in oriental fittings with the traditional red hues that you would normally find in many Chinese restaurants. Going in, we climbed up to the first floor where we were attended to our seats really quickly by the waiter. We ordered the Roast Duck, Garlic fried Bak Choi, and steamed fish with ginger and spring onion garnish. All the dishes served was good, fish was cooked tender and full of aroma from the garnish, and the bak choi was cooked just right - crunchiness, checked. The star of the night, has got to be Palace Garden's Roast duck. Crispy, succulent, juicy, and tender cooked roast duck, that melts in your mouth - served with plum sauce.

Would definitely recommend anyone looking for traditional Cantonese cuisine in Newcastle to give Palace Garden a go.

We eat here at least once a month, we absolutely love it here. The food is always amazing - better dim sum than I even found in Hong Kong - and the people are absolutely lovely. You won’t find better authentic Chinese food in Newcastle

It is more than 10 years since I visited the Palace Garden and it has not changed one bit. The décor is the same, and the layout is the same. The restaurant is now dated and the red furniture is still a feature. The food is good but the spare ribs were a little tough. The staff were courteous and the place was full of Chinese patrons which is always a good sign, All in all the banquet was good value at £18 but a décor update would not come amiss.

What a total disaster waited 2 hour until we got our starters served. Very basic. It took 3 hours for our main course food was tasteless & some over cooked in fact crispy all stuck together. Total waste of time will never go back here again
