A really nice Premier Inn, very spacious room, quiet, even though based in middle of city centre. Good food at reasonable prices.Very impressed with quality of meals, both breakfast and dinner. Staff for the most part helpful and attentive. Must mention James who goes the extra mile with regards customer care and Linsey who was really helpful. On the down side I did not sleep well, bed was not as comfy as other Premier Inns I have stayed in and housekeeping needs looking at. We had to ask for more toilet tissue as this had not been replenished and one day we had no towels! Room was not vacuumed during our 4 day stay and the bed was made only once. Glasses were also removed from the bathroom and not replaced. Not really acceptable. We would however stay again and would hope that these issues would have been addressed.

Room Tip: Ask for room 135, large, airy and quiet

Booked into this hotel because of the location in the heart of Newcastle. This hotel is next to the Gate in Newcastle and across the road from Eldon Square shopping centre and only a 10 minute walk to the train station. Rooms are nice and clean. Only issue was the windows would not open to let a little fresh air in but no big deal as they do have air con. All staff members we spoke to where friendly and helpful.

Three night stay to enable time to explore Newcastle's architecture, bridges, monuments etc.
The Premier Inn is a great place to stay being centrally located a short 10 / 12 minute walk from the main line station and easily found next to the "Gate" and opposite Debenhams.
Reception / check in straight forward without fuss. Room spotlessly clean and tidy. Not a lover of air conditioning and window sealed shut so could not open for some fresh air - room overlooked the adjacent multi-storey car park. Black out curtains really worked for change - no gaps.
Relatively comfortable bed - but did seem harder than other Premier Inns with the pillows, both the soft and firm also seemingly rather thin.
Plenty of hot water and very good shower, lighting in both bathroom & bedroom much improved - no very dim energy saving bulbs. Nice also to have a 40" wall mounted TV.
Breakfasts the best I've had for a long while, the scrambled eggs firm and no water, meaty sausages and the black pudding nice and moist. ( informed cooked in small batches to ensure quality and minimal wastage )
Marty the chef gave a friendly greeting each morning to all the guests, well done to him.
Evening meals - warm plates and clean cutlery always a good sign and the food was really cooked well with great steaks. Only downside was with the deserts being served that horrible American aerosol whipped cream stuff and the ice cream pure white and flavourless.
Premier Inn if your reading this come to Devon and buy our clotted cream and ice cream and you will find its quality is in a different world.
Must also mention Jade and Josh who offered good smiling service plus Ray who took me around the building ( former Co-op department store ) t and showed me some of the retained features. Very pleasant reception staff.
So thank you for making a stay, great.
