Description: Bistrot Pierre’s ‘raison d’être’ is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That’s why you’ll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. Just had the 2 course menu and you'd expect the food to be less of a quality than that of the a la carte however, although the portion sizes weren't as big (as you'd expect), the quality was equally good so great value for money.
Service was great, really friendly and a none pretentious atmosphere. Spot on in our opinion, well done Bostrot Pierre and your staff are a credit to you

Well went there with my wife for a lovely meal out the ,the meal was good staff were friendly ,except one major problem !!
When my wife was eating her starter under her meal on the plate there was a black piece of black plastic ,looked like it was off a the lid off a plastic lid from the kitchen area, this to me was very very dangerous if she had actually eaten it !!! We didn't make an issue of it but did say to the staff who were pretty good to be fair ,knocked off a bit off the bill including the starter ,after reflection when we left I think they should of just given us the whole thing for free for my wife but because I didn't want to make an issue in the place for the sake of wrecking the moment,
I do think the meal was nice ,the staff were friendly including the manager ,but the manager would of got a full 5 stars if he had given a full refund to my wife's complete meal not just that course she eat with the plastic she nearly ate .
So watch out for plastic in your food !!!!!

We first tried Bistrot Pierre for breakfast & thought we try lunch as we had such a good experience. We were not disappointed - delicious food & good service despite it being busy - lovely vegetables to accompany mains & my son was delighted by the basket of French bread that was included. Crepes with apple & rhubarb were particularly delicious as was the honey cake . Would definitely return

2 course menu is relatively good value. We also had the chorizo in honey as an appetiser which was phenomenal. The pork was quite good. The brownie which was advertised as having pouring sauce had very little sauce on it indeed. I was sat right next to the door which had a gap in it. Was freezing!

Wonderfull start to finish, were very busy on the afternoon but were quickly shown to our seats and handed a plentiful menu!

Good wine. Good soup, Good steak, great value for a lunch menu.

Also was very nice and cosy we sat relatively close to a door - I wouldn't take into account what the review below says at all regarding temperature.

Well done to the young friendly team.
