Owner description: The Attic Theatre is the No.1 fringe theatre in Stratford upon Avon and home to award-winning 'Tread the Boards' Theatre Company. In 2016 we begin the year with Romeo & Juliet, the only Shakespearean play being performed in Stratford during the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. First established in 2009 by Tread the Boards, an award winning theatre Company. This unique, riverside theatre is located in the heart of Shakespeares' birth town. This unique space is housed in a Grade 2 listed 15th century building and seats just 89 people. This makes for a very personal and intimate theatrical experience.

Saw a Midsummers Night Dream. It was a cross between Shakespeare and The Play that goes wrong, it was so funny. My 11 year old loved it too. A bonus that you can take a drink of wine in too! Would definitely go again.

Two superb and contrasting productions, expertly directed and utilising a strong cast who double and play every role to perfection. A Dream that milks all the expected gags while throwing in lots of unexpected ones, next to a foreboding unsettling Richard that's all the more so for its comic timing.

Both look and sound sumptuous.

TTB is the company to check out for inventive storytelling - less of a budget and fewer frills than the RSC but more heart and Shakespearean soul.

Bonkersly brilliant! Loved every minute, the actors were amazing with perfect comedic timing. Definitely go back again, the theatre is up in the rafters and you are sitting on the stage which just adds to the charm of the place. Excellent value for money too.

Such talented actors. My 8 year old daughter was laughing out loud and smiling the whole time. We had our 8 and 12 year old girls and 9 year old niece. All loved it. Sure, they couldn’t follow all the words, but they understood enough to follow along. Really a great show. Buy tickets in advance, it’s a tiny theater and sells out. It’s so reasonable too 12 gbp for kids. Long though, 2:30 show ends about 5:15, with a 20 minute intermission. You will love it.
