My partner and I stayed here for his birthday last month and it was a lovely overnight stay, from arrival to check out. The atrium was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
We had a regency club room, which meant that we could go into the regency lounge for complimentary snacks and beverages between 5pm-7pm - this made me very happy. The range of food and drinks (both alcoholic and soft) was delightful, though there were no vegan options (which meant I stuffed my face with crisp sandwiches while my partner ate cakes, biscuits, pastries and whatnot). I didn't mind too much, though. The view and ambience made up for it.
The room itself was a great size and very clean, as was the bathroom. The view wasn't too bad - we could see the Library of Birmingham and a building site, so it could have been better (though I wouldn't put this down to fault of the hotel).
The location is very central, right next to broad street. However, it was quiet and we encountered no trouble. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
- Please note, you get a complimentary breakfast and spa access with the regency room, but having just finished all-nighters in the library due to university work, we slept in and didn't get to take advantage of these so I can't comment on them.More
