Quaint area that is nice to stroll around. Some old buildings, barges and bars but also some new bars and chain restaurants lile pizza express and cafe rouge.

Only a 20 min walk from the bull ring.

For a quiet and romantic walk, a coffee on a terrasse, this is the perfect spot. My wife and I were there to take our daughter to university and we had a beautiful walk there. Mind you it was in early January, cold, gray, and still this was a great experience. I just want to go back when it's nice and warm.

If youre after a quite romantic walk or a peaceful one without the significant other - try this! One can walk from the Mailbox all the way to the ICC. Beautiful!

Back in the day, when I was at University here, Gas street was a dump. There was nothing on this side of the city. Now its got hotels, the areana, the ICC, the new library and there is loads more going on as I write this. The canal basin gives a nice echo back to the old days. So far I;ve only seen it in winter, but I bet in summer, on warm evenings, it will be great to sit by the canal, watch the boats and have a drink at one of the canal side pubs (of which there are now loads). Its good, come and take a look!
