“Great accommodation and easy access to Salisbury and the surrounds.”
Reviewed 15 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Lovely quiet cottage with modern amenities. Great base to explore the region (castles, cathedrals, gardens, stately homes, ancient monuments). Stourhead a must. Oh, and the baking!

Liked best: Bed was very comfortable. Shower was huge.
Liked least: Could have done with a simple baking\casserole dish for the oven\microwave.

“Short break - Wheelwright Cottage”
Reviewed 17 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Owners very friendly and helpful. Property very comfortable and well presented. Train station a short walk with easy access to Salisbury and Portsmouth/Southampton. Local fare in nearby villages well worth a visit.

“Absolutely Perfect!”
Reviewed 30 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This charming cottage nestled in the lovely village of West Dean is no more than 15 minutes from Salisbury and was the perfect retreat for our southern English sojourn. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the cottage itself had absolutely everything we needed. A wonderfully comfy bed (queen size), crisp white linens, fluffy towels, a spacious bathroom with huge shower (and good pressure), television and sofa for cozy evenings in and a fully equipped kitchen with everything from microwave and Bodum coffee maker to fridge, dishes, cookware, cutlery, glassware and sugar, tea coffee and condiments. Patricia also left us juice, bread, milk and delicious homemade muffins!

The WiFi service was excellent and the drop-down kitchen table made a perfect office for my "working holiday"..

The private backyard was lush and green and fragrant and complete with table and chairs was the perfect location for sunset cocktails and even dining al fresco, especially when we were joined by Harry and Macy, the two adorable on-site retrievers. The village of West Dean is quite sweet but you will need a car. Be sure take the 2 mile drive to West Tytherley and The Black Horse, one of my favourite pubs in all of England.

We will definitely be back to The Wheelwright and would strongly recommend you visit, especially if you are looking for a central southern England point from which to explore. We did day trips to the New Forest, Isle of Wight and even Cornwall! One of the nicest places to rent and definitely one of the BEST deals in the world.

“Comfortable base for exploring south Wiltshire and Hampshire”
Reviewed 5 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

The flat comprises bedroom area, and kitchen diner area, with a shower and WC. It is attached to the owners' home. Everything you need for a quiet week in the countryside. Friendly and helpful owners. Train station two minutes walk away, so you don't necessarily need a car.

I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to visit Salisbury, Romsey and Winchester.

Suffice to say this was our second visit and we have already rebooked. Excellent, peaceful location with easy access to the wider area.
