Went on a weekend with our dance class, around 45 of us. Had a nice turret shaped room which was lovely and quiet if a little tired decor wise. It was very clean with a comfy bed and extra bedding if needed. Iron and board in all rooms. Three course meal was good first night, lovely fresh veg, bit more sauce would have been nice though with red snapper, very large fresh fruit salad for dessert. Second night, feta starter absolutely delicious as was the slightly spiced apple tart. Breakfast was great with a good range of continental and cooked food available. Staff were all lovely. Convenient situation and lovely views from back rooms, hope to visit again.

Dear heidi m

Thank you for your kind review following your recent visit to The Abbey Hotel. It was a pleasure to read you found my team to be attentive, your bedroom well equipped and that breakfast and dinner well received. My team certainly work hard to try and ensure all of our guests experience a memorable stay and they will be delighted to know that you did.

I do hope you’ll have the opportunity to stay with us again when in Malvern.

Best regards

We came here on a 'Secret Escapes' deal for my wife's birthday. The room was reasonably large and had nice views from the large window. The included meal was OK but not particularly memorable, and the breakfasts were not as good as we had had at a local B&B. The hotel is very close to the centre of the town, right next door to the Abbey, with its impressive stained glass. However, the car park is behind the hotel and down a steep slope, and there's no rear access to the hotel, so if you don't double-park and unload your bags at the front, you have a long way to haul your luggage to check in.

One thing that particularly irritated us was that we told the hotel in advance that it was my wife's birthday. They left a 'card' in our room (rather cobbled-together) but otherwise failed in any way to mark the occasion. Many restaurants would have provided a small and simple birthday cake, or even asked me in advance if i wanted to pay for champagne or flowers, but not the Abbey.

We also found Malvern itself overrated; once you've seen the Abbey and walked up the Worcestershire Beacon, that's about it. The centre of the town has few amenities and looks tired. The countryside around is pretty enough, but the town itself is really not up to much, and nearby Malvern Link is decidedly scuzzy. If you're planning to visit the area, there are some good B&Bs in the surrounding villages that offer better value for money and give access to a range of more-attractive towns such as Ledbury, Upton and Worcester.

We booked a one-night stay via Travel Zoo, and dinner was included in the offer. It is a beautifully situated hotel, tastefully decorated and well maintained. The staff were efficient and friendly, and the food tasty. Although it was quite busy with a large group in the evening, the service we received was personal and good. We loved it!

Room Tip: Lovely views from the rear upper rooms.

three star hotel, facilaiites and service pretending to be four star simply on location and virginia creeper

would benefit from an entrance from the car park to recpetion, what a game to get bags etc from an unnecessary hike .

too many coach parties which they dont tell you about

does have a nice view over the valley but thats not star rated, you can get three star for simply having a lift

They are situated in a great location and definitely becoming a great stay these day... the staff are so nice and accommodating and we had a room upgrade... Not to say we were close to the Abbey itself but the views were stunning... The room was great with a very comfy bed but a bit more water pressure would help! Highly recommended....

Room Tip: Room 305 is overlooking the Abbey, The Severn Valley and hills beyond...
