Owner description: After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles. Worthy of World Heritage status no less.

Visited Easter Sunday. Was busy but not too busy that you couldn't get up and down the zillion steps to the turrets.
Well worth a visit. The museum is informative and well laid out.
Small shop attached to museum ran by Keith who was well informed.
Allowed to leave and return to castle with our day ticket. Excellent value for money at just under a tenner. Would recommend.

Wonderful 2 hrs - this castle is well worth a visit. You need to be fairly fit as there are many steps to climb but the views from every aspect are fabulous . Staff very helpful & knowledgeable .

The castle it'self is very well presented and a good way to spend an interesting afternoon.
There was also a Welsh military museum which was an added bonus.
Don't make the mistake as we did and think visiting the castle would be a welcome brake from walking over all those hills and mountains around Snowdonia, the castle has many towers which also means many steps.

An amazing castle, with stunning views. Well presented information with interesting video, story about Eleanor in one of the towers and museum of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Suggest allow 2-3 hours if you enjoy military history, otherwise 1-2 hours.
