Well what can I say that hasn't been said already by previous reviewers? As newbies to touring caravanning it was refreshing to be greeted by charming owners and fantastic facilities. We inherited a 24 year old 2 berth caravan which had been on a storage site for the past 10 years. After giving a full service we opted to take it on tour to a local site to familiarise ourselves with the van and towing.
Our 2 day experience at Pont Kemys was resounding success.
We've tented all around Europe on a number of occasions and this site is an equal to the best sites we have stayed at over there. In terms of facilities this site is excellent. We had a fully serviced pitch in the adult’s only section of the site. Our hard standing came with Water, Electric, TV hook up and waste water drainage. Communal facilities are modern and well maintained.
I have noticed that previous reviewers have commented on the noise that passing motor cycles generate as they pass the site. The road adjacent to the site is a road favoured by bikers from all over the country as are many rural roads throughout Wales. As far as we were concerned it caused us no angst.
As the end of August is fast approaching we have already booked a four day stay at the end of the month and hope to get another visit in before the end of season. The great thing about touring vans versus tents is you don't have to ensure everything is dry before departure. Hook up and go is our future.

Room Tip: fully service adults only area available

Been coming to this site for many years with the children and now the grandchildren and find it one of the best sites we've been to, pitches very good size , shower / toilet block very clean . Rosie and Bryn are always there to help if you have a problem .

Room Tip: No play ground for children but large grass areas on site, good dog walking area, wifi is free good tv reception when plugged on site good basic shop

The title says it all!!! Arrived to a pleasant welcome by the owner. Given all the information we needed and we were shown to our pitch. Very level pitch in an enclosed area for tents surrounded by a small woodland. Very sheltered and cozy and away from the caravans. Facilities were second to none. The showers / toilet block were amongst the best we have seen. Warm, clean and modern. Wifi available for free as well as a microwave in the washing block.

The site was spotlessly clean and whilst we were there with our children there was a children free area which I am sure some patrons would prefer.

Apart from the area being riddled with motor bikes whizzing up and down the main road outside (which the owners obviously have no control over) I cannot fault the site at all.

Love this site!
Bryan and Rose are lovely and helpful.
Our tent pitch was level and within easy reach of the loos.
They have an adults only area which is suitable for caravans and motor homes but not tents.
We paid for the electric hookup (well I needed my straighteners)
The best thing about the site is the peace and quiet. It's quite rural so there's plenty of bird life to serinade you to sleep/wake you up but the rest of the campers/caravaners were a quiet lot so we could appreciate a true break from the hubbub of working life.
We successfully used it as a hub to go off and visit local sites of interest as far as Cardiff without feeling like we'd had to travel.
The showers/toilets/laundry & washing up rooms were always spotless.
Recommended for a peaceful, pleasant stay.

Currently still here at Pont Kemy's Campsite and what a beautiful place, having been let down by a site in Newport just as we were leaving, my husband found this place on the internet with 5 AA stars. I rang and spoke to Rose who said that it would be no problem. You wonder why we had been let down, we actually own an american 11 mtr caravan and it is not a motorhome. We obviously need full services and having booked the original site through the caravan club we were concerned we would not find anywhere else. Well Rose was so nice when I spoke to her on the phone and nothing seemed to be too much of a trouble and to be honest it hasn't been. Yes there is a main road right were the back end of the caravan is but to be honest like anything after a while you do not notice it. It is is a nice area and very pretty, it is also very quiet and the people who have stayed on the site are very friendly. I would stay again, the only problem is that the fully serviced pitch does not allow for children but the rest of the park does.

Room Tip: If you want a fully serviced pitch and you have children then this is not the place to stay.
