Sadly the arena is situated away from restaurants and pubs. The facility has veery little in the way of restaurants except for Pizza Hut and a lively sports bar and coffee shop. The other option being large queues on the concourse. All the original eating establishments are empty shells and does not promote a positive outlook for the SSE.The Waterfront has netter acoustics however it is for smaller gigs.

This place is probably ok for ice hockey but for concerts it is dreadful. Your feet stick to the floor in parts. The system for getting a drink is chaotic and selection of drinks is awful. Outside most of the restaurants have closed. Avoid if you possibly can. Oh and don’t park there - again system for leaving is really poor - you could wait an hour.

Randomly got tickets last year to an Ice Hockey tournament (IIHF) where the Belfast Giants were playing, it ranks in my top 10 weekends/events. I have since been back a few times and brought other mates along who have all enjoyed it. The SSE is a terrific venue, the staff are excellent and despite the crowds it never feels crowded, it has well organised facilities including parking, orderly queues, a sneak peak at Samson and Goliath on the way in and a bonus from SSE on the last trip with an upgrade to the SSE VIP bar. Ice Hockey is a terrific sport (spectator for me), and fun for all ages which add to the event, & that's not to mention the cheerleaders, jerseys, subway cannon, and other entertainment which all add to the buzz and a highly recommended day out.

lots of the places have closed in here now, it's very run down and cold, with a little more investment it could be a great place for all the family.

Went here to see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
This is a well ran and professional set-up, easy to get to from all directions with ample parking close by. There are several entrance/ exits, so no need for all the pushing and shoving, each ticket having your door and gates marked. There is plenty of room in the open and wide forecourt with ample toilets and food/drink kiosks. Everywhere you look there are staff on hand to help out or answer questions.
