“Affordable luxury in the heart of the Mournes”
Reviewed 5 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

These brand new cottages were a joy to stay in. We stayed with a group of friends in the Rourke's and Seefin and they had everything we needed, adults, kids and dogs alike. The cottages are furnished to the highest standard with free standing baths, walk in showers, under floor heating, wood burning stoves and really cosy beds.

The views out to Slieve Binnian are incredible and the Carrick Little car park a mile up the road is the perfect base for exploring the Mournes. The cottage is too far out of Newcastle to walk into town but perfect for those with cycling interests or for a desire for more serene surroundings. Parking is ample and secure and the back gardens are perfect for a BBQ.

Myrtle was extremely helpful and very easy to deal with. We can't wait to go back.

The cottage was beautifully finished and furnished. 3 bedrooms one Double down stairs with ensuite suitable for my 93 year old Mother. One big double and one big twin room upstairs. A superb bathroom with bath and separate deluge shower head and ordinary shower head also. The kitchen was very well fitted out with even beakers and bowls for kids and a bar-b-que as well. The views from the house were beautiful with the sea to the front and the Mourne mountains to the back. Myrtle the owner even came with a flask of boiling water for Mum as there was a scheduled power outage on one of the days we were there - very thoughtfull. The five cottages in a semi circle are enclosed by a beautiful dry stone wall with a remote control gate so children of all ages are totally safe on the large grass common area. The acid test is would I go again and the answer is resoundingly YES. This is high class accommodation in a beautiful scenic area.

“Luxurious hidden gem in the heart of the Mournes!”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kribben cottages. This fantastic new build is a hidden gem in the area. Situated in the picturesque town of Annalong, this property is nestled in the heart of the Mournes with stunning views of the mountain range as well as the sea. As there is a lot to do in the area, this cottage is situated perfectly and it is only short drive to the nearby towns of Newcastle and Kilkeel.

Location aside, the welcome received by this family run property was next to none. The cottage itself has an authentic feel but there are many modern twists throughout. The cottage was build and furnished with no expense spared and had a luxurious feel better than any 5star hotel! There was also great attention to detail throughout and in my opinion it is these outstanding finishing touches that make this self catering property unique. The rooms are all spacious with lots of storage space, the beds are very comfortable offering a great night’s sleep and the kitchen is superbly kitted out with everything you will ever need for your stay.

I stayed here on a weekend trip with friends and it was perfect for a relaxing weekend of catch ups and great conversation. I would also recommend this cottage for anyone wishing to have a romantic and relaxing getaway however it is also the perfect holiday location for families of all ages. It is also ideal for outdoor and adventure lovers as Mournes are a hotspot for walking enthusiasts in Northern Ireland.

Having stayed in the area on several occasions this property is head and tails above any competitors and I would highly recommend that everyone pay the cottages a visit! You without a doubt will be blown away by the location, property and service offered. I already can’t wait for my trip to Kribben Cottages :)

“Absolutely beautiful Cottage”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Beautiful Cottage, immaculate condition. A place where you could easily stay, I didn't want to leave. Central to Kilkeel and Newcastle. Very easy to get to silent valley. Not hard to get to either. A lovely welcome and also welcome pack. Wifi facilities and fitted with excellent appliances. Beautiful outdoors and a lovely place for a BBQ with your own wee picnic table. Thoroughly enjoying my stay and will definitely be back

“Great Location, Amazing views, and Excellent, Modern Interior”

Great location to the Mournes as well as the lovely wee town of Annalong. Newcastle, Kilkeel and Warrenpoint are all close at hand as well. The cottages are brilliantly finished, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen has all the utensils you would need to cook up some lovely good food and the 'breakfast welcome pack' was a great touch!

Would highly recommend these cottages for a romantic weekend away, a family holiday or a get away with friends!
