After reading mixed reviews - we were slightly apprehensive about staying here whilst on a coach trip. But this was misplaced because we had a clean and spacious twin room on the first floor. The room was had a nice decor and although the bathroom was dated - everything was clean and working. Overall we had a tasty three course dinner and a great night's sleep here. The soup tasted homemade, I enjoyed mince and tatties for the main and the pear & apple crumble was scrumptious. Staff were busy but professional and during the busy dinner.
Breakfast however was a bit of a shambles. It looked like there was one waiter doing everything for the two coach loads of guests which meant tables weren't cleared, there was no cups, glasses or plates and food was running out. We were told to come for breakfast at 8.30am but there were no tables left and when we eventually found a few spaces we discovered the above. Don't get me wrong - when food came out was of decent quality but we only had a certain amount of time and couldn't wait for everything to be replenished so just had to eat what we could before leaving.
Despite breakfast I would stay again at this hotel.More
