Typical Aberdeen b&b and a good place to stay with decent parking..... advertised as en-suite but they are not but you do have individual bathrooms but not connected to your room they are totally separate.... breakfast was good and decent sausages not like some places that use cheap stuff.......

Hi
Thanks for taking time to post a review, but a more accurate one would have been helpful. Your statement - 'advertised as en-suite but they are not.' - is totally inaccurate. If you view our web site you will see that we advertise that we have 10 rooms - 8 of which are EN-SUITE and 2 that have private facilities. Anyone making a booking is informed of the type of room they are to occupy - so no one - yourself included - can be under any misapprehension of not occupying the room they chose. On perusing our records it appears that your booking was made by someone at your company and in that event we are not responsible for any erroneous information that may have been passed to you. Our experience has shown that there are some persons who cannot or do not differentiate between en suite and private facilities. I suspect that this is what has happened in your case.

George Jennings.

This was the 2nd time I've stayed at The Jays and I meant to write a review then but it slipped my mind. I've just stayed at The Jays for the last 3 nights and just as last time it was a very pleasant experience. Alice and George are lovely people and couldn't do more to make your stay a comfortable one. The house and rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfasts have been to die for, I've had kippers, a full Scottish and smoked haddock, different breakfast each day and every meal was superb. There's no need to stay in any of the many mediocre hotels in Aberdeen; the Jays a gem!
Well done and thanks to Alice & Gerorge........Chris Davis.

Hi Chris
Thank you for your positive review and we are glad that you enjoyed the varied breakfasts. We endeavour to give our guests a taste of the local cuisine, which of course being Aberdeen, has to include fish. Hope to see you again soon.

Regards,

George and Alice.

Stayed on 9th & 10th of June 2014. I was up in Aberdeen for work purposes and was made very welcome at The Jays. Both George and Alice were very obliging and the breakfast is amazing! Looking forward to seeing you both again at end of the month!

Comfortable, clean and very welcoming. My single room was good-sized and had an armchair and desk which was a useful extra. The owners were very engaging and helpful with local information and places to visit. Thoroughly recommended.

Having never stayed in a guest house before, normally staying in hotels, I was a bit nervous about being in somebodies "home". With the average price of a cheap hotel being £160 a night, I decided to give The Jays a go. What a great decision, George and Alice are lovely people, making you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. My room was well equipped and absolutely spotless while the breakfast was great. A short 15 minute walk and you're in the heart of Aberdeen. Will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Aberdeen.
