Out for an early birthday dinner wife my better half, I had tempura chicken for starter which was just awesome, the batter was so light and crispy, and the tomatoe sauce was the best I've ever tasted, my wife had the muscles in cream sauce which she said was just phenomenal. Main was Chicken Penne Picanti for me and fish and chips for my better half, my pasta dish was brilliant, the tomatoe based sauce was so fresh and light with a nice after burn of chilli (not too hot, just a nice heat). My wife's fish was huge, and again the batter was light and crisp, the chips were home made, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.
All in all, superb meals and lovely friendly service

Very nice place to visit for dinner. Good selection of choices on the menu and good service. Staff are very good, place is clean and comfortable. I had lasagne which was good but a little on the dry side. Decent sized portions at a reasonable price. My only complaint would be, for the size of this place, there was no draught beer, only the usual overpriced bottles. Would recommend for eating, not so much for drinking.

On holiday for a few days in Oban we chose a restaurant serving fish dishes which was accessible with a mobility scooter. The Olive Garden fitted the bill and we were made very welcome. We chose the Table D'Hote menu at £17.50 per person for two courses. Starters were Duck with Black Pudding and Salmon Mousse. Both enjoyable. Main courses - sticking to our wish for fish - were Trout for my wife and Sole for myself. We added desserts to the bill. As we were not driving we had a couple of rounds of drinks - 3 large wines and a brandy and lemonade. The cost of our meals was £44.50 and drinks £21.60. Total £66.10p. Not cheap, but very good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We went here for the 3 course Carvery lunch on a day and a wee drive out. We were greeted by a smartly dressed man wearing a waistcoat and he was very pleasant.
We then waited a short while for a table as it was busy. Joan then showed us to our table, she was very efficient and then we went for our starters. Laid out nice was a colourful display of peppers, cucumber, salmon, pate, tomato with mozzarella, green leaf salad, various breads, oatcakes etc, just lovely.
Then to the main course, beef, pork, gammon, turkey, all proper joints cooked just magic. There also was braised beef which just melted in your mouth. Accompanied with the usual veg choices, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, fondante potatoes, and all sauces. The chefs seemed nice and were pleasant.
To the pudding next, individual trifles, various cheesecakes, Tortes and i plumped for the hot apple pie and custard. Lovely and tasty. We had coffee and enjoyed a leisurely dinner in lovely surroundings on a Sunday afternoon. For £15 each you cannot say anything but great food, lovely staff and great value for money. Thank you and see you next time we’re in Oban x
