A beautiful castle sitting high above the river Tweed, Sadly it it has been closed to the public for years, exept for private functions. Such a shame and many new pople living in the town have never seen inside.

The castle itself is closed for the public - unless you're here for an event - but there's a footpath going past the castle on both sides of the river and that's really worth exploring! Walking on for half a mile or so it takes you to a deserted railway bridge that is just worth visiting. It's a lovely walk, although might be a little muddy after rain.
Surprisingly cheap to hire this stunning piece of history, all our family and friends still rave about our wedding. It really was a perfect day!!
Nice location, not a great deal to see as its not open or viewing. Just had a walk around it then back in the car.
The castle is not open to the public for visits but is available for hire for events as it was for the wedding that we attended. The place lends it self well for that type of ceremony in the candlelit room. The castle makes a splendid backdrop for the wedding photographs.
