“Secluded cottage next to a beautiful walled garden with all you could want to wind down and see the Borders.”
Reviewed 2 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Garden Cottage does what it says on the tin. It sits next to a walled garden with terraced lawns with lovely views and fruit you can pick, if in season. There is a tennis court next to the main house that may be used when vacant. It is secluded from other buildings and has access to forest walks and along the Tweed river. The cottage is along estate tracks and the drive is accessed through a narrow walled entrance that requires skill and a U-turn to negotiate :-). The cottage is warm, comfortable, well equipped and recently refurbished and includes wi-fi, which was essential for us as we were in the middle of selling our house. Garden Cottage was perfect for us and we would love to go again, but the stairs make it unsuitable for frail elderly or very young children.

Liked best: The location and the tranquil position
Liked least: The wood pellet boiler for the hating and hot water was OK but some instructions on how to coordinate the timer/thermostat with the boiler would have been useful.
